HOW TO GET YOUR OWN PUBLIC ROOM ON IMVU

Many of us, even me, began playing IMVU to meet people, chat and to have fun because let's face it, IMVU provides us with a nice little escape where we can all recreate ourselves. Most of us really begin meeting people in the public rooms provided.



Now if you're as curious as I am, you would want to create your own public room and show people both your creative side as well as your fun side as well. So much is to offer and so much to buy in terms of both rooms and furniture, that I get excited just thinking about it. I have built many rooms and currently I have 10 public rooms, so I thought perhaps I should share some of my knowledge and experiences and help you build your own public room.

Now the first question is how do you get a public room? There are 2 ways to get public rooms, one is to buy a room slot via IMVU and the other is to become a VIP member. So let's look at both of these in more depth as there are pro's and con's to each.

1 - BUYING A ROOM SLOT

Typically a room slot costs as much as $29.99 and depending on the country you live there are various ways of paying for this, including via text or using your credit card. The best tip I can give you for buying a room slot is to wait till the slot goes on sale where the price sometimes drops to as low as $17.99

Now one of the best things about buying a room slot is that once you buy it, the slot is yours forever. You can basically do what you want with it and change it as frequently as you would like. Whatever you do, the slot is yours to chop and change as you see fit.

2 - GETTING A PUBLIC ROOM VIA VIP MEMBERSHIP

Now this way fast tracks you into the big league, however at the cost of $9.99 per month for membership, you get 10 free room slots, so you can build yourself ten rooms while you are a VIP member.

That's okay for anyone willing to pay for the VIP membership but should you decide to discontinue your membership, you lose all 10 rooms until you become VIP once more. In this way IMVU keeps you paying every month to keep your public rooms open.

Now we can debate about which way is the better way but my advice to you is perhaps to rather buy yourself the room slots without becoming a VIP member and in that way you save yourself the burden of paying monthly fees and rather just do a once off payment for your slot. That's just my opinion but whatever works for you, go ahead and try it.
