Let's face it, most of us when we join IMVU just want to go out and meet people, make new friends and have the time of our lives away from the reality of our lives. Everyone of us has a Profile Card or Procard which is visible to other players and can even be what makes us attractive or even just interesting to others by whats written on these procards.
Here's a simple breakdown of your Profile card or Procard:
1. YOUR AVI NAME
This is where you AVI name appears on the Procard. Remember to think carefully when choosing a name as it will be there permanently unless you're a VIP for more than a few months in which case you can change it. Your name also says alot about you and some thought should be put into it before you even start.
2. PROFILE PICTURE
Ok unlike your name, your Profile Picture is not permanent and this is where your profile picture goes. Most people use pictures of there AVIs but some now also use GIFS and perhaps their actual pictures of themselves. This can be changed as frequently as you like.
3. AGE AND GENDER
This is very obvious but are you male or female and how old are you or want your AVI to be, It should also be noted that one may hide their gender and age also so that no one can see it. In such a case the Profile Card would reflect an "N/A"
4, TAGLINE
Your tagline says alot about your and may reflect your mood. This can be changed anytime you want and usually it reflects how one is feeling or what they are thinking. You can only use a few characters here so the tagline is short.
5. AVAILABILITY
This shows whether you are online or not.
6. COUNTRY
Here one sees the country you're from and your countries flag. This may change depending on where you are or perhaps move to.
7. DATE DETAILS
This shows the dat you joined as well as the last time you were online.
8. INTERESTS
In the Interests section you can add anything that reflects you or interests you as well as your friends names or anything you can think of that says something about you. This can also be changed to your liking and frequently
9. RELATIONSHIP STATUS
Relationship status is just that, the options include, Single, Married, Divorced, Prefer Not To Say and Other.
10. ORIENTATION
This refers to your sexual orientation, the options are Straight, Gay / Lesbian, Bisexual, Other and Prefer Not To Say.
11. HERE FOR
What are you on IMVU for, the options are Friendship, Chatting, Other
12. BADGES
Here you can add badges which will improve your Profile Card and make it seem nice and complete. There are free badges as well as one you pay for. You may also want to create badges and display them here for all to see.
13. CHAT
Clicking on this button opens a private room to chat with the AVI.
14. GIFT
When someone clicks here, it allows them to gift you an item from your wishlist, the shop or even credits.
15. ACTIONS
The actions from left to right are as follows
i. View AVI Profile page
ii. Albums - view the AVIs photos and albums
iii. Invite to Shop
iv. Message the AVI
v. Add AVI as friend
vi. Flag the persons Profile card for anything which you may deem to be inappropriate. This will be reported to IMVU for consideration
vii. Block. This allows you to block the person and they wont be able to message you or send you any invites. This is handy if someone is bothering you or giving you any unwanted and undue attention. The action may be reversed as it is not permanent.
